On Wednesday 18th of March 2026 the 2nd and final Workshop on 'Gender Aspects' took place on site at the 'Grand Arsenali' premises. The event was highly successful and attracted significant interest from the local community, as well as students and researchers.

The short conference focuses on Geoenergy and Energy Transition aspects and will take place hybrid on 19 March 2026 at the ‘Grand Arsenali’, Chania port.

The 2nd Summer School of the European project TWINN2SET took place hybrid from June 30 to July 4, 2025, successfully hosted by the Institute of Geoenergy in collaboration with the Technical University of Crete.

The agenda of #TWINN2SET’s 2nd Summer School on Energy Transition & Geothermal Energy, which will take place hybrid in Chania and via zoom during June 30th and July 4th, is now ready. The Summer School includes a series of lectures, workshops and lab tours. The European Project Twinn2set 2nd Newsletter is now available. During the 2nd year of the TWINN2SET project many actions have been implemented.

The 2nd Technical Project Meeting of TWINN2SET took place on January 30th 2024 during the visit of IG/FORTH Researchers and ESRs (29.01-02.02.24) at the premises of IFPEN in France.

The 11th and final week of the Massive Online Courses (MOOCs) regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET) took place by IFP School of IFPEN phisically on 19/06-21/06 and with on-site sessions at the premises of IG/FORTH in Chania, on 22/06-23/06 by the Assistant Professor in Geophysics Mathilde Adelinet.

The 10th Week of the Massive Online Courses regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET) took place virtually by IFP School of IFPEN during 24/04-28/04 by the Professor at Georesources and Energy Center of IFP School, Eric Deville.

The third and final part of the on-site seminars regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET), took place at the Institute of Geoenergy-Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas-(IG/FORTH) in Chania, by the IFP School of IFPEN during 27/03-07/04/2023.

The second part of the on-site seminars regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET), took place in the Institute of Geoenergy-Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas-(IG/FORTH) in Chania, by the IFP School of IFPEN during 20-24/03/2023. The courses were conducted by the Associate Professor and Program Supervisor Master of Science in ‘’Petroleum Geosciences’’ Georesources and Energy Center, Lerat Olivier.

The first part of the on-site seminars regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET) took place by IFP School of IFPEN Energies Nouvelles on 06-11/03/2023 in Chania by the Director of the Georesources and Energy Center at IFP School, Fournier Frederique.

Principal researcher of the IG/FORTH Dr. Spyridon Bellas participated as Invited Speaker in the 8th Balkan Energy Summit Conference in Athens (March 1-2nd 2023) organized by IN-VR.

The first part of the 3rd Massive Online Course (MOOC) organized by the IFP School regarding to the European Project ‘’Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition’’ took place virtually on 13-17/02 and 20-24/02.

The second Massive Online Course regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET) took place virtually by IFP School of IFPEN Energies nouvelles on 09/01-13/01 and with on-site sessions on 16/01-20/01 by the Assistant Professor in Geophysics Mathilde Adelinet.

The first Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) by IFP School of IFPEN regarding the TWINN2SET project took place virtually between 14/11/2022 - 18/11/2022.The topic was ‘’Introduction in the Energy Transition’’.

The first Kick-Off meeting of the project: ‘’Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET)’’ took place in Chania, on 02/10-04/10/22. The main discussion of the meeting focused on the management and administrative procedures
