TWINNING TO SUSTAINABLE ENERGY TRANSITION

TWINN2SET overarching objective is to strengthen the scientific and innovation capacity of the FORTH/IG in Geothermal Energy and subsurface (geological) storage of both, CO2 (CCS) and Hydrogen. This breaks down into the following:

Building research excellence of the IG/FORTH.

Strengthen expertise of FORTH/IG on Energy Transition, Geothermal systems and Subsurface storage systems for CO2.

Develop soft skills of IG/FORTH staff.

Strengthen the research management capacities and administrative skills of IG/FORTH.

Increase IG/FORTH International visibility and links with the industry, the public and policy makers, as value chain actors (quadruple helix approach).

Ensuring sustainability.

Enhance the understanding of gendered aspects

OUR VISION

To establish a Research & Innovation Center on Sustainable Energy Transition in the wider region of Eastern Mediterranean by creating cross-sector links among different scientific groups in order to achieve a changeover to clean power while at the same time guaranteeing energy security

OUR CONSORTIUM

TWINN2SET is being implemented as a partnership between the Greek Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation for Research & Technology – Hellas (FORTH/IG), the Norwegian University of Stavanger (UiS) and the French Research Center IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN)

WANT TO EXPLORE OUR RESEARCH WORK ?

TWINN2SET studies the stability of geological hydrogen storage, the practical set-up of operation and the potential competition or synergies of other uses of the underground space for gas storage

(i.e natural gas and CO2)
