TWINN2SET: on site seminar by the Associate Professor and Program Supervisor, Lerat Olivier

The second part of the on-site seminars regarding the European Project, Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET), took place in the Institute of Geoenergy-Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas-(IG/FORTH) in Chania, by the IFP School of IFPEN during 20-24/03/2023. The courses were conducted by the Associate Professor and Program Supervisor Master of Science in ‘’Petroleum Geosciences’’ Georesources and Energy Center, Lerat Olivier.

The main Software used was Petrel and the outcomes of the workshops were the following:

  • Explain what a static reservoir model is
  • Identify its main elements, from data to properties
  • Describe the workflow for building a static model
  • Discuss the parameters controlling the main methods for a 3D properties distribution

Data from EasyTrace were used as an input in order to construct a structural model and through different processes such us layering, data analysis, facies and petrophysical modeling and finally upscaling, the reservoir grid was made. These processes were undertaken in Petrel, Schlumberger Software, and their results will be used as an input for the dynamic modeling workshop which will take place the following weeks.
