TWINN2SET: The Kick-Off meeting in Chania, Crete
The first Kick-Off meeting of the project: ‘’Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET)’’ took place in Chania, on 02/10-04/10/22. The main discussion of the meeting focused on the management and administrative procedures.
The first Kick-Off meeting of the project: ‘’Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition (TWINN2SET)’’ took place in Chania, on 02/10-04/10/22. The partnership of the project was established between the Greek Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation of Research and Technology-Hellas (IG/FORTH), the Norwegian University of Stavanger (UiS) and the French Research Center IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN).
The 1st day of the meeting included an ice-breaker dinner between the partners. On the 2nd day, the coordinator Emmanuel Stamatakis welcomed the participants and underlined the main objectives and aspects of the meeting. Later on, Professor and Director of the Institute of Geoenergy Nikos Pasadakis gave a welcome speech and a presentation of the Institute of Geoenergy-FORTH, and the technical part of the meeting started. The main discussion of the meeting focused on the management and administrative procedures and therefore a number of actions have been decided. The partners and the Advisory board presented their activities, the coordinator Emmanuel Stamatakis outlined the project management procedures, while the general Horizon Europe rules were presented by Mrs. Vasiliki Kalodimou from PRAXI network. In addition, the work package leaders gave a detailed presentation about the deliverables and the 12-month plan has been discussed, along with the Capacity Building plan.
In the afternoon the 1st Workshop on Gender Aspects of TWINN2SET took place at the premises of Technical University of Crete with many speakers and great interest from the audience. The 2nd day closed with networking via dinner.
On the 3rd day, the discussion focused on the detailed action plan of Capacity Building for the next 12 months and the detailed action planning and infrastructure for Project’s Research part. In conclusion, a PSC meeting will be organized once a year at FORTH/OG facilities and a Project Technical meeting twice a year, aiming to accurately fulfill the TWINN2SET work program.
There was a great response of attendances to this meeting from all the partners involved. From University of Stavanger, Professor Alejandro Escalona Varela, Associate Professor Dora Luz Marin Restrepo and Professor Raoof Gholami were present.
From the French Research Center IFP, Director of Georesources and Energy Center Frederique Fournier, Researcher Simon Poirier and Assistant Professor Mathilde Adelinet were also present.
From the Foundation for Research and Technology, Maria Klapa also attended the meeting.
From the Institute of Geoenergy, Director of the Institute Professor Nikos Pasadakis, Principal Researcher Spyros Bellas, Researcher Evina Gontikaki, Researcher and Coordinator of the project Emmanuel Stamatakis, Professor Sofia Stamataki, Assistant Professors Andreas Giotis, Marinakis Dimitrios and Vasilis Gaganis, Associate Professor Emmanuel Steiakakis, Technical Staff Marina Tsouchlaraki, Post-Doc Researcher Anastasios Labropoulos, Laboratory Teaching Staff Eleni Chamilaki, PhD Fellows Georgia Charalampous and Chrysoula Tallarou, Research Assistant Konstantina Selekou and master student Dimosthenis Telemenis were present.
Professor Olga-Vizika Kavvadias and Dr. Bruno Garcia attended virtually.
Moreover, Professor John Gluyas who is member of the advisory board was present, Katerina Pramatari (from the advisory board) and Professor Hatzignatiou Dimitrios (from the advisory board) also attended the meeting virtually.
