TWINN2SET 3rd Massive Online Course (MOOC), 1st part: Underground Gas Storage
The first part of the 3rd Massive Online Course (MOOC) organized by the IFP School regarding to the European Project ‘’Twinning to Sustainable Energy Transition’’ took place virtually on 13-17/02 and 20-24/02.
The 2-week seminar was dedicated to the Underground Gas Storage. The Director of the Georesources and Energy Center at IFP School Fournier Frederique and the Associate Professor Lerat Olivier were the main instructors of the webinars. The aim of the first week was to make a general overview on geological gas storage (theory and exercises) emphasizing on the generalities on underground gas storage, including natural gas storage, CO2 geological sequestration and underground storage of H2. In addition, the main objective of the second week was to delve into the petrophysical and static modeling issues by analyzing the petrophysical properties, the petrophysical evaluation of well logs, the basics of ellectrofacies analysis and rock-typing, the static modeling and the statistics and geostatistics.
The second part of the 3rd MOOCs maintain 4-week on site seminars (06-10/03, 20-24/03 and 27/03-07/04) working on EasyTrace, Petrel and Eclipse Software at FORTH/IG premises in Chania, Crete.
